Hannah Eden Q&A
Hannah, how do you help people find meaning and purpose in their fitness journey through your coaching style?
Hannah:
“My coaching philosophy is about finding reason and purpose in your fitness journey. Knowing your motivations helps you align your goals with what truly matters to you. I also believe in taking a balanced and sustainable approach. It’s not just about numbers like distance or speed. It’s about being present in the moment, paying attention to how your body feels, and enjoying the process.”
Have you faced any challenges on your fitness journey? If so, how did you overcome them?
“Definitely! One major hurdle was dealing with an injury that temporarily halted my intense workouts. It was frustrating because I had to take a break from my usual routine, which affected both my physical and mental well-being. To overcome this, I had to adopt a patient and flexible mindset. I focused on finding alternative activities that suited my injury and sought guidance from physical therapists and sports medicine experts. Overall, navigating setbacks in fitness requires patience, adaptability, and seeking support when needed.”
How has your fitness journey shaped how you coach and support the iFIT Community?
“I’ve faced challenges, hit plateaus, and struggled with motivation, just like many people out there. But those experiences have given me empathy and a deep understanding of what it’s like to be on this fitness rollercoaster. When I coach and support the iFIT Community, I draw upon those personal experiences to connect with others. I know firsthand how important it is to have someone in your corner who understands what you’re going through. I strive to create a supportive and non-judgmental environment where people feel comfortable sharing their struggles and celebrating their victories.”
Can you share a memorable moment from your new series?
“During filming for Pines to Peaks Part 4: California, we were exploring Sequoia National Park, and let me tell you, it was mind-blowing! Picture this: jogging amidst these massive sequoia trees, feeling like you’ve stepped into a fantasy world. It was straight-up awe-inspiring. And here’s the kicker: all of this is right here in the good ol’ USA! Can you believe it? We have these jaw-dropping national parks in our own backyard. It’s like having a front-row seat to Mother Nature’s greatest hits.”
Hannah Eden’s Expert Tips
If you want to dive into hiking or biking but feel a little lost on where and how to begin, don’t sweat it! Hannah’s got some awesome tips to help get you started:
- Don’t be afraid to start with “beginner-friendly” options. “Start with shorter hikes, gentle jogs, or easy bike rides to build up your stamina and confidence. Take it easy and gradually build up your distance and intensity as you get more comfortable.”
- Treat yourself to some cool gear that makes you feel like a pro. “Invest in comfy shoes, moisture-wicking and stylish clothing. The right gear can make your hiking, jogging, or biking experience way more enjoyable, and you will feel confident doing it!”
- Embrace the journey. “Whether you’re hiking or biking, let go of any pressure and embrace the fun. Sing out loud, dance it out, or challenge yourself to reach new goals—make it an adventure that brings a smile to your face!”

How to Bring Your A-Game to the Train for a Tour Series (Part 1/3)
If you’re familiar with the cycling world and follow European racing, you may have come across both myself and the team I coach, the UAE Team Emirates. I’m Kevin Poulton and have coached for nearly 25 years, specializing in Spring Classics riders and sprinters. In that time, I’ve been fortunate to coach elite World Tour professionals and work with some of the best teams in the sport. My athletes have secured victories in Paris-Roubaix, Tour de France stage wins, World Championship Road Race podiums, and multiple Spring Classics podiums. And now, you’re my next athlete! The Series Structure I designed the Train for a Tour Series much like the programs I use at UAE Team Emirates’ training camps. Over six weeks, your iFIT Trainers (all of which are pro cyclists themselves) will run you through an immersive World Tour pre-season experience. You’ll train in Mallorca, Spain, as it is the ultimate training destination for professionals. Every winter, World Tour teams flock to the island for their pre-season camps, and for good reason. The terrain is incredibly diverse, offering long, steady climbs, rolling hills, and flat coastal roads—exactly what’s needed to develop all aspects of cycling fitness. The Train for a Tour Series gradually builds in intensity, taking you from controlled endurance efforts to high-powered, race-specific efforts. The workouts follow a carefully structured progression: Early Weeks: Lower-intensity, steady-state efforts with proper recovery, laying the foundation for improved aerobic endurance and efficiency.Mid-Series: More focused interval work, targeting different energy systems, including fast-twitch muscle activation, anaerobic power, and high-intensity efforts.Final Weeks: Race-like sessions, including VO2 max intervals, lactate tolerance efforts, and short recoveries, mimicking the demands of competition. If you follow my training program as I’ve laid out (and you ensure that the SmartAdjust™ feature on your bike is on), you can expect to see improvements in your cycling performance, endurance, and ability to sustain high-intensity efforts.
